18 Temmuz günü Kraliyet Kütüphanesi’ni ziyaret eden Çelebi Mehmed, burada karşılaştığı çok sayıda Türkçe ve Arapça el yazması eser ile nadide Kur’an-ı Kerimler karşısında büyük bir şaşkınlık yaşamıştır. Aristo’nun tüm eserleri ve dünya tarihini anlatan minyatürlü yazmalarla ağırlanan elçi; bunları büyük bir entelektüel merakla incelemiştir.
À la Bibliothèque royale : le 18 juillet, lors de sa visite à la Bibliothèque royale, Çelebi Mehmed éprouve une grande surprise en découvrant de nombreux manuscrits en turc et en arabe, ainsi que des éditions rares du Coran. Accueilli avec des manuscrits illustrés de miniatures relatant l’ensemble des œuvres d’Aristote et l’histoire du monde, l’ambassadeur les examine avec une profonde curiosité intellectuelle.
In the Royal Library: on the 18th of July, Çelebi Mehmed visited the Royal Library. There he was astonished by the numerous Turkish and Arabic manuscripts and the rare editions of the Quran he encountered. Faced with Aristotle’s complete works and illustrated manuscripts narrating world history, the ambassador studied them with deep intellectual curiosity.
