Opera: Çelebi Mehmed was personally invited by the Regent to witness this astonishing performance, known as the “Opera,” unique to Paris. In the magnificent building, where seating was arranged according to the ranks, he marveled at the sudden transformations of the stage sets and the technical mechanisms that made the performers appear to fly through the air.
